The Drawing column's Properties

An Ink&Paint node's Drawing column's Properties window looks like this:

• Use the Name field to change the drawings' name; just type the new name you wish to use.

• Use the Format buttons to set the order of the drawings' name and numbers. If the name is before the numbers, choose Prefix; if it is after, choose Postfix.

• Use the Display Options checkboxes to control whether or not the level's DPI and Paper Orientation are displayed in the column.

• Use the Pegging Display buttons to control how the drawings' pegging is displayed.

If it is displayed, you can then edit the pegging by double clicking and typing a new pegging - just as for any other information in a keyframe.

• Use the Tint Color field to set a tint color; this is only used if a drawing has not been image processed, and is intended for line tests. Choose the color from the Color Chooser; see Choosing colors.

• Use the Replace Level button to replace the column's current level with a different one. Choose the new level from the panel that appears; see Locating a file.

• Use the level's filename and pathname to see where it is stored.

This information is also shown on the message area of the Scene Graph whenever you select the Ink&Paint node:

• You can scroll the name in the message area and select parts of it by dragging the cursor to the left or right over the name.

• You can copy and paste the selected parts of the name - for instance into the panel for choosing a replacement level - by clicking the middle mouse button.

• Use the Can Edit Registration checkbox to enable editing the level's registration in the Drawing Window. (See Nudging drawings to change their registration). This box is normally unchecked, so you can't accidentally move your drawings from their correct pegging.

• Use the Refresh button to force Director to reload the level. This is especially useful if someone is painting the level while you're working on the scene. This will only reload the drawings that were already in the scene; if any drawings have been added to the level, you must add them to the scene yourself. See Adding drawings below.

• Use the Naming Panel to add unscanned drawings to the level, in the same way as for the Unscanned Level node. See Creating an empty level.
